In a Texas appeal, what is a “clerk’s record”?

An appellate record generally consists of a clerk’s record (prepared by the trial court clerk) and a reporter’s record (prepared by the trial court’s court reporter). See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 35.3. The trial court clerk files the clerk’s record directly with the court of appeals. Likewise, the court reporter files the reporter’s record directly with the court of appeals.
