What are “Texas Reports”?

Thomson Reuters (like its predecessors West Publishing Company and Thomson West) prints hardbound volumes of Texas appellate opinions in the “South Western Reporter.” From 1846 until 1962 the State of Texas printed hardbound volumes containing opinions of the Texas Supreme Court. Because West Publishing Company began printing the South Western Reporter in 1886, opinions issued by the Texas Supreme Court from 1886 through 1962 are included in both Texas Reports and the South Western Reporter.
