What are the requirements of a motion for extension of the deadline to file a Texas court of appeals brief?

A motion for extension of the deadline to file a Texas court of appeals brief (e.g., appellant’s brief, appellee’s brief, reply brief) must state the existing deadline to file the brief, the length of the extension being sought, the facts which are the basis for seeking the extension (i.e., why the extension is justified), and the number of previous extensions which have already been granted for the deadline to file the brief. See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 10.5(b). The motion must also contain a certificate of conference. See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 10.1(b). A filing fee must generally be paid when filing the motion.
