What is “subsequent history”?

“Subsequent history” for a court of appeals case includes the case’s “petition history” (e.g., petition denied), but “subsequent history” is a broader term than “petition history.” Specifically, subsequent history will include a citation to any Supreme Court opinion reversing, affirming, or modifying the court of appeals opinion. Also, if the court of appeals case was a mandamus proceeding, subsequent history will include whether the court of appeals decision in the mandamus proceeding was challenged by a subsequent mandamus proceeding filed in the Texas Supreme Court.
