What is the word limit for a reply brief in a Texas appeal?

An appellant’s reply brief is generally limited to 7,500 words (with certain sections of the brief exempted from the word limit). See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.4(i)(2)(C). In a civil case in the court of appeals, the aggregate of all briefs filed by a party is generally not allowed to exceed 27,000 words. See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.4(i)(2)(B). It is possible to file a motion requesting permission to use more words than are generally allowed by the rules. See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.4(i)(4).
