What is the word limit for a response to a petition for review in the Texas Supreme Court?
A response to a Texas Supreme Court petition for review is generally limited to 4,500 words (with certain sections of the petition exempted from the word limit). See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.4(i)(2)(D). It is possible to file a motion requesting that the Texas Supreme Court permit more words than are generally allowed by the rules. See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 9.4(i)(4).
