When is the deadline to file a petition for review in a Texas appeal?

The deadline to file a petition for review to the Texas Supreme Court is generally 45 days after the court of appeals rendered its judgment if no timely motion for rehearing / reconsideration was filed. If a timely motion for rehearing / reconsideration was filed, the deadline to file a petition for review is generally 45 days after the court of appeals ruling on that motion. See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 53.7(a). It is possible for the Supreme Court to grant an extension of the deadline to file a petition for review, but generally only if a party files a motion requesting an extension within fifteen days after the deadline for filing the petition. See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 53.7(f).
