What is a “bill of review”?

If a party misses the deadline to file a traditional appeal and also misses the deadline to file a “restricted appeal,” it may still be possible for that a party to file a “bill of review.” Notably, a bill of review is not an appeal, but rather is a trial court proceeding. Generally, the deadline to file a bill of review in the trial court is four years after the trial court judge signed the final judgment.
