What is a “partial reporter’s record”?

An appellant is not required to request a complete reporter’s record. If an appellant requests a partial reporter’s record, the appellant (1) is required to include in his/her request a statement of the points or issues to be presented on appeal and (2) will be limited to those issues/points. The appellee may then designate additional matters (related to those issues/points) to be included in the partial reporter’s record. The appellate court is generally required to presume that the partial reporter’s record designated by the parties constitutes is a complete reporter’s record with regard to the issues/points presented in the reporter’s record request. See Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 34.6(c).
