What is a “submission date” in a Texas appeal?
When there is an oral argument, the date of the oral argument is the date that the appeal is submitted (also known as the “submission date”). When there is not an oral argument, the submission date is normally listed on the court of appeals letter which states that there will not be an oral argument. When the case is submitted without oral argument, the appellate justices generally have a closed-door conference about the case on the submission date.
